The MYO was formed by Fr Michael Kairouz in 1984 until 1994.

Fr Geoffrey was ordained a priest in 1994 and was The President of the MYO until February 2003. In February 2003, Fr Alain Fares was appointed Youth Chaplain and MYO president. He continued in this role until September 2004.

The current president is Mons. Bcharra (Shora) Maree who joined Our Lady of Lebanon as Youth Chaplain and Parish Priest in September 2004. He is supported by a committee of dedicated youth.

The MYO is the official Youth Group of Our Lady of Lebanon Church.

It comprises of youth from the Parish and meets once every month.

The Vision of the Maronite Youth Organisation of Our Lady of Lebanon Church is to strengthen the Maronite Community within the Parish and wider community.

In recent times the MYO has become renowned for its charity fundraising work throughout the Australian and Lebanese communities.

The MISSION of the MYO is to:

Foster, strengthen and grow in our Maronite faith & commitment to this Church.
Understand, support and address the needs and issues of this parish.
Organise, encourage and promote social interaction within our Australian–Lebanese Community.
We always welcome and encourage any Youth interested in our activities to join, and we Pray that through the strength of God we may help make our Maronite family stronger in faith and in love.
