The Roses of Saint Rita

The Roses of Saint Rita Committee was established in December 2024 under the spiritual guidance and direction of Fr Danny Nouh, with the mission of prayerfully supporting the establishment of Saint Rita Maronite Catholic Church in Guildford.

The committee’s vision is to cultivate a vibrant community of faith united in devotion to Saint Rita, where the faithful gather in prayer, grow in spiritual wisdom, and find hope and healing through her intercession and example of perseverance, compassion, and complete surrender to God's will.

Since its establishment, the committee has focused on a range of initiatives that foster spiritual growth, community engagement, and support for the development of the new church. These initiatives include prayer gatherings centred on Saint Rita’s intercession, educational communications highlighting her life and spirituality, seasonal novenas particularly in preparation for her feast day on 22 May feast day celebrations and blessings, social media outreach, the Saint Rita Parish WhatsApp Group, and fundraising activities dedicated to supporting the church's development.

Through various fundraising events, the sale of Saint Rita merchandise, and the generosity of ongoing community donations, the Roses of Saint Rita Committee has successfully raised funds towards the construction and development of the church. The Committee continues to build momentum and community support through its fundraising efforts with a range of ongoing initiatives throughout the year.

As Saint Rita once said, "Most Holy Sacred Heart of Jesus, help my heart to persevere in all that is holy." Inspired by these words, the community of Saint Rita Maronite Catholic Church in Guildford continues to build something truly sacred—a spiritual home founded on faith, hope, and devotion.

The committee is grateful for the many blessings received thus far and for the generosity of all who have contributed in any way to the development of this new parish. With confidence in God's providence and under the patronage of Saint Rita, the Committee looks forward with hope and faith to the continued growth of the parish community.
