The Sodality of the Immaculate Conception is the first branch of the Marian Family and is made up of men and women of faith who follow a constitution and a program of rules. Their objective is to deepen their faith and to live more fully with Mary as their model. They also support members of the other parish committees in their spiritual journey and activities.
Members of the Sodality meet for weekly prayers every Sunday. We begin with the Rosary in Arabic at 7:00 am and Sodality prayers in English and Arabic at 7:30 am before the 8:00 am Divine Liturgy. This is followed by a coffee hour where members gather and discuss upcoming activities.
Other spiritual activities include adoration, the monthly Rosary and Mass for the Apparition of Our Lady of Fatima, Marian processions, May home visits, spiritual retreats, and pilgrimages to various shrines.
The Sodality also conducts community activities that bring the parish together. During Lent, weekly lunches are held, with proceeds supporting special projects in Lebanon, two examples being funds sent to southern Lebanon in 2026, and the Bishop’s Emergency Appeal Fund.
Each year, on 8 December, the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, members of the Sodality renew their vows. New members are formally welcomed into the Sodality during this celebration.
The Sodality is open to all adults who are ready to commit themselves to living as children of Mary. Come and meet us on Sunday or enquire at the email below for more information.
