Family of the Divine Word

The Family of the Divine Word (FDW) is committed to strengthening the understanding and practice of our faith through Scripture study, reflection, pastoral care, and community engagement.

FDW was founded during the Lenten season of 2009 by Sr Rose Therese Tannous of the Maronite Sisters of the Holy Family. Since then, it has held weekly Bible study sessions in Arabic every Tuesday evening, exploring themes that help parishioners live out the Gospel in their daily lives.

The Bible study sessions follow annual programs based on the Eparchial theme for the year and inspired by the Pope’s vision for the Church. Parishioners reflect on biblical texts, figures from both the Old and New Testaments, the Saints, the teachings of the Church Fathers, Apostolic Exhortations, Papal Encyclicals, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, and other faith resources. These studies deepen their understanding of the faith, help them discern their mission in life, and foster ongoing spiritual growth.

In addition to the weekly Bible study sessions, FDW holds annual retreats, spiritual reflection days, and social gatherings. Through its many activities, FDW continues to guide parishioners in faith, hope, and the lived experience of God's grace.
