God of Creation,

In your love for us you created the whole universe. You embrace with your compassion and tenderness all that exists. We call on you today to look to this land which is ablaze with bushfires in Australia. We ask you to protect from all harm all those who are threatened by the flames; give consolation to those who have lost their loved ones and possessions; grant rest to those who have lost their lives; healing to those that have been injured; and safety to the firefighters, police and volunteers who risk their lives to save the land and those in danger. We make this prayer, through the intercession of Our Lady of the Southern Cross, Saint Mary of the Cross MacKillop and all the Saints.
